Chopping a Fast Serve

Is it possible to chop a fast and spinny serve?? i saw videos on Youtube and saw players can return fast spinny serve with backhand chop but is it possible with the forehand??

Hi,

Yes it is but it is best if you take a step back away from the table to do it so that you have more time and control and the ball slows down.  It is very difficult if you are close to the table.

Fake Movements

After the ball has left the server's bat, they can no longer affect the spin that is on the ball. Any movements after the contact are referred to as fake movements and are meant to confuse you as the receiver. You need to focus on the contact to read the spin.

.Thanks! I have try out on it a little bit away from the table, but when the bat come contact with the ball, it will be a very high return and some may even land outside the table. i can't find any mistakes i make from there.

Hi,

Make your backspin stroke more vertical to get it to stay lower.
