Equipment
HI Alois & Jeff,
This might be a dumb question :) but still I haven't figured out the answer !.
I believe the quality & characteristics(speed & spin) of rubber will be the same for any brand for both colors.
I noticed most of the chinese players using Black color rubber for their Forehand. Is there any tactical advantage ?
Thanks,
Arun
Hi Arun,
There is no real difference with the colours of the same rubber.

It possibly must be all in the mind of the players . Even at the club where i play there are many players who say that the red side is fast and the black side has more spin .
Personally i felt both were the same . the variation in the stroke might cause the speed /spin.

Hi,
I´ve read that some trainers advice to use red for serving because is a lighter color, similar (???) to orange or white balls....
Rgds
I don't think this will make any difference at all.

Hey guys,
I think it's nothing but pure preference... I used to prefer red on my forehand for many years, then I went through a phase where I made 2 bats with black on forehand, brought about by the fact that my pro shop only had the rubber that I wanted for my forehand in black and I kind of liked it and did a second bat in the same way, but then, on my latest bat I switched back to red on forehand.
99% of the time my opponents didn't even notice these changes - I think I only got one comment, once or twice.
Cheers,
Sam
