Hi,

Trying to block a smash isn't very easy for anyone.

You should try to avoid your opposition from having the opportunity to smash by keeping the ball lower.  If you are trying the block a smash, watch the ball carefully and just provide a good angle with your bat.  You don't have to play much of a stroke just have the bat in the correct position and with the right angle.

For serving make sure you are brushing the ball on contact.  This will get the ball to start to spin around.  Take a look at what is available in our lessons in our Serving Secrets section for lots of good information about your serving.
