Hi, I am fairly new to table tennis. I have a Palio Legend bat which I think is probably OK for me. A few people have commented on the sound it makes when I hit the ball & someone asked me do I have a "hollow bat". What does that mean?

Hi Donna,

It is a reasonable bat to start with.  It is just the type of wood and rubber that they use that gives the bats different sounds.   Nothing to be concerned about at all.  It is more a matter of how it feels for you.

Choosing a Table Tennis Bat

Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.
