Bat cleaning

Hi Pingskills, I just bought a new penhold bat from Stiga and DHS skyline 2 and hurricane 3 rubbers. I also bought some Joola rubber cleaner and was just wondering how often I should clean the rubbers (after every match? Once a week? Once a month?) Any way the bat over all cost over £100.00 so I don't want to make any mistakes with cleaning the rubber and degrade it. Also my skin is naturally oily and moist, will this affect the rubbers performance because since I am a penhold player my fingers will be touching the rubber all the time.

Sincerely Jack

Hi Jack,

You can clean it with the rubber cleaner once every couple of days.  Otherwise just use a damp cloth.  Your fingers won't effect the rubber overly.  You don't need to worry about it.

Enjoy your new racket.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
