Strokes
How to play backhand when the ball comes to my end line?
Hi Varun,
There are a few things that you can do.
The first option is to just push the ball back.
Secondly, you can move back a small step and make a topspin stroke.
Thirdly if you don't have time to move back you can make a short topspin stroke. Just by using your forearm in a quick upward motion you will be able to lift the ball over the net.
Try these 3 options out and see which works best for you and against each opponent. If your opponent is a good attacker, you probably need to try to make the topspin. If they are a more passive player then a good push may be good enough to keep you in the point.
The banana flick has become one of the most important returns in table tennis. It allows you to attack almost any short ball and places your opponent under immediate pressure. Still it is a difficult stroke that takes a lot of practice to master.
