Bailing out of an experimental switch

I decided to switch my backhand rubber. I kinda liked what I was using (Haifu Shark) for counterhits/loops, but as a fast tacky rubber, I was missing a lot of blocks because the margin of error was very small. I first thought about looking for something with similar properties but just a bit slower, but decided to try out a sheet of spinny short pips I had (Dolphin) since that would also solve the blocking problem and (theoretically) be pretty aggressive too. At the club though, a player just kept on serving and pushing to the pips, knowing that I couldn't really make a good push or loop back and would have to make a drive return, which he attacked.

I hate to say 'nope' to a change after one real session, but do you think it might be best to just find the rubber I was looking to switch to in the first place rather than try to overcome a new problem I didn't have before?

Hi Mark,

I think that maybe the best solution if you don't feel at all comfortable with the short pimples.
