Backspin without side spin

When I do a backspin on the floor, it goes side way. Why does it?

Hi Jean,

This is because your bat angle is slightly tilted.  Keep the bat completely straight and you will get pure backspin on the ball.  Keep practicing this on the floor until the ball comes straight back to you.
