This has probably been answered, but I didn't find a way to search.

I cannot get serious backspin on a serve. I have tried literally thousands of times (I know: The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. But I wasn't expecting a different result, I was hoping for one.) and mild backspin is all I can get. I've taken full speed and slow motion videos of myself serving, and it looks like the ball is popping up the instant it touches my racquet (using Mark V rubbers). Otherwise, the serve looks correct. Where do I go from here? Thank you.

Hi Kurt,

Hope you haven't driven yourself to insanity...

The main thing is the angle of your racket on contact.  Take a look at the tutorial on the Ma Lin Ghost Serve Bat Angle.  This will show you the importance of the angle of the racket.

It can be difficult to maintain the angle on contact.  It is worth videoing yourself again and see if you are able to do this.
