Strokes
Dear Coach,
Recently , I found this backhand topspin over backspin technique with elbow up pointing fwd (rotate wrist) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzfjAQodQu8
What's your advice as its quite a difficult and awkward position.
I would always start below table as you explained before but one point I would like to understand better :
I am a right handed player and for the backhand topspin over backspin , I would start below table but what is the recommended and safest start bat position below table :
1) face 90 degree to floor facing your opponent and it's tip point down to the floor
2) face 90 degree to floor facing your opponent but its tip point to your left foot parallel to the floor ?
3) flat at 180 degree ,that is, parallel to the floor and parallel to floor
4) flat at 180 degree ,that is, parallel to the floor but rotate backwards as in the video at 1.22 minutes?
Thank you
Regards
Rama
Hi Rama,
I think it is important to keep the stroke simple. If you are rotating your wrist and changing the angle when you are learning, you will make many more mistakes. eventually when you are proficient, you can relax the wrist and let it flow naturally which will create this effect.
