Hi yes so generally i Played by myself table Tennis for around 6 years in Germany there in a Club till i was 15 years old, also i Played there in the Highest youth League in Germany and after this age i did Not Played table Tennis for 7 years and now i Beginn to Play table tennis again in a different country so the Trainer there also optimizied my forhand technique a Lot and my Backhand technique to a small degree.

So i See that i did Not really lost that much of Level but now i have the Goal to improve a Lot more. And generally maybe If you are very experienced with different Kind of Players i am a very tall Player around 195 cm height and generally i was Always a Backhand dominant Player but now in the past 3 weeks AS i Beginn to Play table Tennis i do notice that my forhand got much more consistent than even my Backhand on the Most Balls and also with different Kind of Blocks of my opponent so i have more Power with my forhand and also its more consistent but Backhand feels more Natural for me and also i tend to Play Backhand more in the past but now i See that i make with a Long Backhand Loop easier mistakes and with a short Backhand my stroke IS consistent and also fast but people dont struggle that much with my Backhand. So my question is should i really learn now in my Situation Play more forhand on the Most Balls If possible or try still to Play more Backhand. Because what i thought for me its better to play Always forhand If possible but If the ball Is Not reachable for my Backhand or coming fast into my Backhand Side i should Play Backhand ?

Its now Not very clear for me because my forhand seems to be more Dangerous but my Backhand more Natural to Play ?

Hi Gabriel,

I think you need to focus on your strengths.  It seems that you are more natural on the backhand.  In the modern game it is fine to play more backhands.  You can sty in a  more neutral position square on to the table and allow yourself to play backhands from the middle.

The thing to focus on in training is to make the choice of that middle area ball that you are talking about.  This is something that you can train by getting your training partner to play a large percentage of balls to that area and you making the choice often.  There is no right and wrong, it will always depend on the type of ball and also where the previous ball was as well as where you think is the best place to hit the ball to.  These are all decisions that you need to practice.
