Strokes
When I try to backhand chop with a short pimpled no sponge rubber, ball goes higher and out of the table. What should I do?
Hi Praveen,
It is difficult to develop your game with short pimples no sponge. I would get some rubber preferably some inverted pimples with a little bit of sponge to be able to develop your strokes first.
If your shot is going out of the table then your stroke also needs to be more vertical, coming down more. This will get the ball to travel less distance.
Most players are told to always return to the ready position after every stroke but that might be hurting your game. In this video, we reveal a smarter way to recover:
✔ Track the ball immediately after your shot
✔ Move your racket into position for the next shot instead of blindly resetting
✔ Improve your timing, balance, and flow during rallies
Whether you’re a beginner or advanced player, understanding this subtle change can have a big impact on your consistency and speed around the table.
