Hi Alois and Jeff,

I make strong 3rd ball kill whenever the ball comes to my fh after pendulum/reverse service and sometimes if it comes to bh corner half long. is there any way i can improve my consistency on this?

Also many times some opponents play a flick down the line making me go behind the table for defense or even not get to the ball on time. so i decided to train my bh 3rd ball but whenever i get into the ready pos. u demonstrated in the video on ready pos. after pendulum serve for bh, i find myself playing push or block most of the time! can u give me pointers on a good bh 3rd ball and how i can recieve that really wide ball too?

Thanks and happy new year!

Hi Shripathi,

See if you can prepare not only physically for the backhand topspin but also have the mindset that you are going to attack the backhand.

Sometimes it is not just the position but also the position with your arm.  This will come when you are ready to attack.  When you are looking to attack your arm will start a little lower.  If your arm is too high you will be more likely to push or block the ball.

Make your position after the serve and really look to attack on both sides.
