Hi Arjun,

Playing the third ball is something that is with persevering with.  It is an important part of advancing your game.

If you are worrying about missing then use it more in a training situation initially.  Remember that the more topspin you put on the ball the safer the shot becomes.  In training, play a game where your partner has to push the ball long to you and you have to topspin that ball... then after that it is a free rally.  Get used to making the 3rd ball in a game situation.  If you need help on the stroke then take a look at the Forehand Topspin Off Backspin stroke in our lessons.  Also take a look at this tutorial on Attack First.

In our 52 Week Training Plans we also have a section dedicated to 3rd Ball. Advanced Weeks 37 to 40: Third Ball Training Plans.
