Serving

Hey there. I have practised the service of Asuka Sakai, a couple of days in a row. And today, I had a lucky shot, you might say. It came at almost the same speed, and the same place. Now, I really want to continue doing this serve, but I don't really know how to hit it the same, as I did then. So please, could you tell me, on the points I should focus on?

Hi Johan,

The main thing is to get your wrist going through as fast as possible and to generate as much topspin as you can.  It is a very fine line of getting enough topspin and getting the contact flat enough to get the ball fast.

add a bit of sidespin on the ball so your service would stay low, fast and throw the ball at mideum hight and contact the ball at the end of the rubber not bellow the logo stamp of the rubber.....
