Hi Coach ,

I am new to the game and playing for almost half year. I would like to buy a new bat and going through forums I felt Mark V rubber will be appropriate rubber to bring my game to next level. However, I am a bit confused  about sponge depth to go with Mark V rubber and which blade to choose  with Mark V  for beginner level from

YASAKA - William Henzell Mark V Bat
YASAKA-  Gatien Extra Mark V Bat
PingSkills Touch Mark V Bat

I will highly appreciate your help in this regard

Thanks,

Rodney

Hi Rodney,

I would say go for either a 2mm sponge or 1.7mm sponge not any thicker.

As far as blades of course we will say the PingSkills Touch Custom Table Tennis Bat but any bat that has good control will be appropriate.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
