Strokes
Hi Alois, I have some strong forehand topspin problems. I can't find the proper angle to a long topspin shot. All of them are short and long. Please help me. Thanks.
Hi Joshua,
This is a matter of experimentation. It is impossible to always get the right angle because it needs to change for each shot you play depending on the speed of the ball and spin of the ball coming to you.
Mainly try to keep your bat on one angle all the way through the stroke and keep watching each ball after you hit it to gain more information for the database in your brain.
The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:
If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
