When pro's are playing do they watch all time ball or do they watch opponent position and anticipate what kind of stroke comes next and where ?

Hi,

It s one of the most important elements of a fast sport like Table Tennis to always watch the ball. You will see everything else happening out of our peripheral vision but the ball is definitely the key.

i totally agree at my level of play but as skill levels ascend, does one ever try to view the arm and wrist motions of the opponent, or even just his paddle, in order to predict where the next shot will end up?

As the skill level gets higher it is even more improtant to just watch the ball.  You will find that at the higher levels because the ball moves even faster you haven't the time to switch your focus between the ball and anything else.

As you get more experience you will also become better at seeing things that are happening with the opponents movements without actually having to look at them directly.
