Strokes
How do i lift a fast low counterhit/flick from my backhand side. I have an almost non-existent backhand loop, pretty good counterhit and flick. I usually loop the low fast no-spin balls after letting them drop a bit from my forehand side.I am even able to counterhit loops i receive to my backhand (the topspin helps in lifting the ball). So how do I deal with these low fast no-spin balls as I don't have the enough reaction time to step around and loop with my forehand.
Hi Abhiram,
You can develop this stroke with the backhand. Use a much more vertical stroke to lift the ball. I doesn't have to be a big stroke if you don't have time, but by making it vertical you will lift the ball over the net. The flick will feel like it is heavy because of the speed of the ball.
