Hi Everyone,

The City of Whitehorse has just released their Draft Indoor Sports Plan. They are proposing the construction of a Regional Table Tennis Centre in Whitehorse and have an accompanying survey. We are at the final step in our campaign and it would greatly help our chances of having the Regional Table Tennis Centre constructed, if you can complete the survey.

To give you some background information on Table Tennis in Whitehorse, there are approximately 1,300 table Tennis people who either play or are coached every week in Whitehorse. The Eastern Suburbs and Churches Table Tennis Association has been campaigning for 24 years for a Table Tennis Venue. There are only small venues at the moment, only one venue has 4 tables. Other venues have 2 or 3 tables.

A dedicated Table Tennis Centre would enable the establishment of a junior competition and allow all the juniors being coached, somewhere to practise their skills without having to travel 20Km or more.

The survey can be completed as either a short survey or long survey. The long survey allows you to comment specifically on Table Tennis. There are other sports where comments can be made, but if you do not want to comment, simply click on the NEXT button at the bottom of the page.

Basically the time it takes to complete the survey will depend on what you type in your comments about Table Tennis.

The survey can be completed here: https://yoursay.whitehorse.vic.gov.au/indoor-sports

You may have to post the link into your browser if the link doesn’t work.

At the end of the survey you will be asked to give your age range, sex, and the suburb where you live. You don't have to give anything more than your suburb. eg. Box Hill, Nunawading, Blackburn, Vermont, etc. No other personal details that can identify you are required.

The council seems to give more weight to the responses from Whitehorse residents.

Hi Neville,

Thank you for sharing this..  I know it has been such a long journey for you.

If anyone would like to fill in the survey especially if you are in Australia and if you happen to be in the area.

Best Doubles Tips in Table Tennis

In this video, we share 2 essential tips that can instantly improve your doubles play whether you're just starting out or already competing in matches.

🏓 Tip 1: Learn why playing more shots down the line helps your partner stay in position and how a well-timed cross-court attack can still surprise your opponents.
🏓 Tip 2: Discover the power of serving short and close to the centre line to reduce your opponents’ attacking options and give your team the advantage.

These small adjustments can make a big difference in your coordination, positioning, and success as a doubles pair.
