Not sure what racket to buy when you're starting out? Avoid rackets with a pimpled rubber and no sponge underneath. They won't let you generate any spin. Look for a rubber with grip and a bit of sponge instead, so you can start developing topspin, backspin and control from the beginning. Your local table tennis club is the best place to get advice on the right racket for you.
