hi Alois

A few days ago i saw the match between Oh Sang Eun and Joo Se Hyuk and i found strange the style of Oh front to the backspin balls of Joo.

if you saw the match you will understand. My question is, that style comes from the technique of Oh Sang Eun or from the combination of rubber and blade? Besides, Which is the best rubber or combination to dealing with backspin balls of choppers?

thanks a lot

Hi Cristh,

Joo Se Hyuk is a really difficult player to play because of his great defensive backhand and attacking forehand.

It is difficult to play a safe enough ball off the backspin so that it doesn't get attacked.

Tactics Against Penhold Players

When playing penhold players it is important to remember to first analyse your opponent as you would if they used any grip. What are their strengths and weaknesses? A common weakness of penhold players is their forehand block especially against a slow spinny topspin. Their backhand may be a weakness if they use the traditional style, or you may wish to explore the crossover point if they are using the reverse penhold backhand.
