Just wondering why chopping is considered the best tactic for defensive?
Hi Robert,
THe chop keeps the ball low and because it has backspin, makes it a little harder for your opponent to attack effectively. A variation of strokes is good when you are defending, but the chop is the safest.
Use a long push or a flick to open up the game against someone who is beating you at the short game. It might not be your favourite way to play but if you are losing the short game you need to mix things up. In the long run you certainly need to improve your own short game.
