why are there 2 colours on tt racquet?? this is asked by my friend..

Hi Karan,

This was brought in as a rule a while ago.  The reason is that when players use two different types of rubber on the different sides of the bat they can very different effects.  For example if they use a fast rubber on one side and a long pimple rubber on the other.  If the two rubbers are the same colour it will be more difficult for their opponent to tell which rubber they have hit it with.

It was leading to shorter and less entertaining rallies so the rules were changed.
