Strokes
I have trouble finding out what is the best placement on the bat to loop what is the best suitable position?
Hi Kevin,
In general aim for the middle of the bat when looping. You get a better contact because of the sweet spot of the bat.
You can experiment a little with hitting it towards the top of the bat for a slower shot with a little more spin, especially against heavy backspin, but in general go for the safety of the middle.
The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:
If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
