Where can I serve from in singles?

Coach,

when I am challenging with my uncle, my uncle said that when I serve its on the left side, when I get 1 point, its on the right side. Is this true?

No Chee, in singles you can serve from anywhere to anywhere as long as you are behind the end of the table. The middle line is only from doubles.

Hitting the Ceiling

When the ball hits the ceiling the point is over. You must hit the ball directly back onto the table otherwise you lose the point. In International tournaments the roof needs to be at least 5 metres above the playing surface but in local competitions you might often encounter much lower ceilings.
