Hello sir.

Many times in a match i don't know if i should block or counterloop my opponents loop. For example if i play against a player who is looping all my shots no matter what, how do i know if i should stay close to the table and block his loops or if i should take one or two steps back and challenge him in a topspin-topspin rally? I have a good block as a good loop so this is kind of a problem for me.

Hi Jakob,

This will depend on the amount of time you have to play these strokes.  The more time you have the bigger the stroke you can play.

Finding the right place comes with practice and feel.  It will also depend on the opponent and which strokes they like and don’t like.
