Hi.

I am a reasonable good player coming back after a break and need to change my rubber and maby my blade to.

I've been playing with Super Ventus on forehand and Victas v15 extra on backhand (both 2mm thick). I'm more of an offensive player and I think I would like something with more spin (maybe a tacky rubber) or something with more speed and spin. I have been looking at stigas DNA Platinum and china rubbers but don't know which to choose.

My blade is a Stiga offensive Vood but thing it's a bit to heavy.

Thank's in advance.

Hi Ebbe,

I will hand this one over to the equipment experts out there to give you a hand.

Ebbe,

I have not tried DNA so can't comment on them or know your level.

If you have read up reviews of a particular rubber and like what you have read, then assuming you can afford them, just buy and try. You do need to give any new set of rubbers and blade a good try though. I'd recommend at least a number of months bare minimum until you know if they suit you or not. Personally, I like xiom Vega pro and Vega Europe as they last well, are of good speed and spin but won't break the bank. If I am feeling wealthy I will buy andro rasanter R47 and tibhar aurus. This is all personal taste and what I have tried. There are many that I have not tried that may be better or worse than the rubbers I've mentioned.

One thing you can be certain, there isn't a set of rubbers and or blade that will turn you into Ma Long or Timo Boll. So buy and try, learn to play all your shots well with your new bat and then either stick with them or try different ones when these are worn out.
