Hi Alois, I was wondering how many hours is a ping ball good for, please correct me if I am wrong but the ball seem to get lighter and tend to float around more as they are been used. Please help me to understand this.

Hi Patrick,

Balls are good until the get stepped on and dented or they develop a crack in them.  I don't find that the ball swing more when they get old. You can keep using them until they crack.

Hi Alois.  Would your answer from 5 yrs ago still apply to plastic balls?

Quite similar.  Just think a lot off then crack easier when hit with the edge of the bat.

Interesting.  I notice a number of the balls we use at the office changing colour after a lot of use and assumed that indicated a change in the ball's physical characteristics.  Given our collective skill levels, several balls have been stepped on and squashed and they cop a lot of edge hits but we haven't cracked any yet.
