Hello,

I am looking to step up from Store Bought Paddles to Assembling my own. I have read about online and everything is refered to as Speed Glue. Having read that Speed Glue has been Banned... What now? I understand the concept behind Speed gluing and the affect only lasting a limited time. What Kind of Glue is considered standard or normal? Is it applied the same way or wet? How long will it last? You see where I'm going, right? Before I spend/waste a chunck of change on a REAL Batonly to glue it wrong I need help. Some companies offer to assemble a bat when ordered, what do they use.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Richard,

If you buy a bat that is assembled they will use a 'normal' glue.

The effects of the speed glue and the chemicals will wear off anyway.

The glue that we recommend is the Aqua Energy Glue but each manufacturer has their own version.  Mostly you will find they are using water based glues.

With the water based glues you need to let them dry well before you attach them.  This takes quite a while, unlike the speed glues.  It is important to let them dry otherwise you will find the racket feels very sluggish for a long time until the glue actually dries out.
