How can i do the werner schlager sidespin and backspin serve?

Schlager's serve is very deceptive. The key principle to doing a sidespin backspin serve is to contact the ball partly on the base and partly on the side of the ball.
If you were looking at the ball like a clock face you would contact the ball either between 4 and 5 or between 7 and 8. The contact needs to be a brushing contact to get the ball to spin.
The setup for the serve is the same as for any other Pendulum serve being side on with your feet. Then get your elbow up high and swing your forearm through like a pendulum. That is where the contact comes in.
