Strategy
Hi Coaches,
Yesterday when I was playing with a friend of mine, he told me that the best way to win the point when you attack your opponent is by deceiving him with a smash for a side he don't expect, it's like to show yourself that you are pushing the ball to fall in right side but actually you're hitting to the left. myself, I don't care about deceiving, I usually attack just with hard smashes without deceiving. So what do you think coaches ? is it necessary that you have to deceive the opponent every time or just to do hard smashes that maybe he couldn't return it ? Thanks in advance.
warm regards..
Hi Muhannad,
Deception of placement will also help with making it difficult for your opponent. First though it is important to be able to get the ball on the table with a straight shot.
Playing really fast with a smash will also win the point in most cases but if an opponent is used to your game they may start to pick where the ball is going and get some of them back.
We analyse the exciting match between Michael Huang and Maggie Meng and discuss how the game was won and lost. Some key points are the excellent serving and use of spin by Michael, and the good placement by Maggie and fast attacks with the pimpled rubbers.
