Hi Alois! Can I ask, what are effective drills before training? I was assigned with leading the drills or any exercise at all before we start our matches. What would you prefer?

And also, what would be your advice for us, if our table at school is not the standard size? How can we train ourselves so that we won't have a hard time adapting to the host school's tables? Thank you and more power.

Hi Rey,

To start a training session you should do some physical warm ups.  The recommended warm ups are to do some dynamic movements.  Firstly you can do a jog.  While jogging you can incorporate other movements like side shuffling, knees up high and heels up high.  This will start to get the heart rate up.

Then you can do some body movements.  While standing still you can circle your arms in big circles, firstly going forward with both arms and then backwards.  This will get your shoulders warm.

Then go on to the waist,  Standing in a ready position with your knees bent, twist from the waist keeping your knees facing the front.  You can progress to twisting with using your knees for rotation as well.  Then kicking one leg at a time.  Hold onto something for balance when doing this.  You can swing your leg forwards and backwards and then also sideways.

Finally circle your wrists and ankles.  After all of this you should be fairly warm and ready for your on table warm up.

If you can, get access to the Training Secrets Course.  This will show you by video how to do all of these warm ups.  It shows you Jeff performing these warm ups so that you can follow him.
