Why are some blades with the highest speed rating not mentioned in Table Tennis Database? There are blades with higher ratings than in T t Db and are not listed.I just ordered a Yasaki Max Carbon 3D for $62 and is listed at T t D b but I could have gotten a Gambler Hinoki with the same rating for $32 but is not listed with T t Db.How are speed ratings determined? Are they regulated?

Hi Bobby,
The site depends on readers ratings.

I think that only administrators of the site can add new blades to the database. Based on what do they do it or not, I don't know. Maybe you can ask them to add one you're interested in or want to provide the first review for.
The ratings are averages of the individual reviewers rankings, which are based on their personal assessment. I don't think there is any sanity check performed to validate these rankings. I read some that said they only heard about the qualities and flaws of blade XYZ, and they still ranked it. So as I mentionned in a previous post, don't trust the rankings at all when there are only a few reviewers, and take them only as a rough indication when there are a lot. If a blade is ranked 8.2 on TTDB, and another one is ranked 8.9, all I'd take from it is that they are both offensive blades, not that the second one is 10% faster than the first.
I was able to add the PingSkills Touch to the list.
