Guys,

I've never seen it demonstrated in any of your videos, but I've played around with cocking my wrist and snapping it through my forehand topspin. I've found that I get a lot more spin on the ball, but at the cost of reduced accuracy.

Watching pros play it appears that some of them do cock their wrists, but it's hard to tell for sure.

I suppose it's a technique that could add value but only if you have excellent control over the ball, but I'm curious to hear what you think.

Thanks!

Hi Michael,

The extra work from the wrist comes when you are relaxed and allow the stroke to flow.  Initially you need to focus more on the movement of the forearm and upper arm to get them correct.

You will notice that the better players will use the wrist more because they have complete confidence in their swing and their arm is a little more relaxed as a result.  This will mean that their wrist will also be relaxed and help with the whole swing.
