Using Long Pips

Equipment

Hi Alois & Jeff,

I've used long pips for 1 month, and i realized that my ability in reading spin became so poor because i rarely used my inverted rubber. My attack became so poor, too. Now, should i back to the bat with inverted rubber on both sides to practice my attack? Or should I focus to train my LP techniques? Thank you so much.

Regards,

Sam

Hi Samuel,

I would go back to using inverted rubber until you get really good at reading spin and then you can try the long pimples again.

Using long pimples can make you lazy in spin reading but it can be handy as well.

Choosing a Table Tennis Bat

Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.
