Trouble with backhand in long rallies

Strokes

hi,

i am an intermediate to advanced player. I don't face any problems starting rallies, with me attacking first but i tend to end rallies by playing winners. But when it comes to playing rallies with my backhand, maybe i rush into the ball and play kind of very flat. So should i add spin or not. Further when blocking when should my hand be still and when to be moving forward like a small counterhit.(i am left handed and face problems with backhand playing down the line)

thanks in advance

Hi Jatin,

I think you should try to add some spin to your backhand.  This will help you to get more consistency and speed as well.

When blocking keep your hand steady and push forward as you are hitting the ball.

To play the backhand down the line, hit ht ball a little later or angle your bat slightly by turning your wrist back a little.  Both of these things will get the ball going down the line instead of cross court.
