Hi Alois, I've been having trouble pushing... Whenever i push i keep it as low as i can and my opponent usually just flicks it like its easy... Also how can I push a short ball that has no spin on it? (or very little spin)  Because whenever I push that kind it ends up going too high (due to no backspin)  So I guess I just need to push it low and short but how can I do that effectively?

Thanks!

Hi Collin,

Pushing can be awkward.  Try to get a little more spin on the ball by brushing under the ball on contact.  This will make it harder for your opponents to attack.

Against the no spin ball you need to make your push more vertical and have a very relaxed hand to get the ball short and low.  You may also think about using a flick in this situation if it is too difficult to get the ball low and short.

Thanks Alois as always, but I've also been struggling with my flicks (they end up going off the end of the table)...  Is the flick all in the wrist or in the forehand as well? Also how would i get into position to flick forehand or backhand?   (by the way the Serving Secrets reveled showed up and it was great!!!)    Thanks

Oops, I meant is the flick all in the wrist, or the forearm... not forehand LoL ;D

Hi Collin,

The flick uses the wrist and the forearm.  Perhaps 70% wrist and 30% forearm as a guide.

Glad you benefited from the Serving Secrets DVD.

Just a quick update, my flicks are getting much better!!! I watched your flicking video and thinking of it like a mini smash really helps!    Thank you
