Equipment
What should I expect when transitioning from a 5 ply all wood blade (Limba/Spruce/Ayous) to a inner carbon blade (thin carbon) with the same wood composition but overall slightly thinner (5.8mm to 5.4mm)? Would the Nittaku Sieger PK50 or the Nittaku Fastarc-G1 complement better the carbon blade. I play both of these rubbers presently the G1 being a bit softer and bouncier and the PK50 being tackier and harder. I'm an attacking player 48 years old playing 2 to 3 times a week at the local club.
Hi Robert,
The carbon may be a little faster. I would stay with the same rubbers so that you can feel the difference in the wood first.
If that doesn't feel right then you can think about making a change to the rubber. If you change both elements it will be difficult to tell what has contributed to any changes.

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!

will the slower tacky rubber give me better low gears on the carbon blade than the bouncyer rubber on the all wood blade?
It will be similar. Taking away from one and adding to the other.
