At the minute I am a half attacking looper and half blocker. How can I become an all out attacking looper. When I do try I always lose. Also what drills should I do to help with this

Hi Thomas,

I am not sure becoming an all out attacker is the answer.

Perhaps you are suited better to the way you play.

However if you want to attack more, practice a lot of 3rd ball routines.  Focus on watching whether the ball is short or long.  Long means that the ball only bounces once on your side of the table.

As soon as the ball comes long to you, you need to make a topspin.

There are a lot of suggestions for drills todo this in our Training Secrets Revealed DVD.

Lobbing Tactics

If you get pushed back from the table don't just give up the point. Try and and get back into the rally. By lobbing the ball high and deep you give yourself time to get into position. If you can then get some topspin on the ball to force the smasher further away from the table then you are likely to get a weaker smash and then you can take your chance and try to counter attack!

Thanks for that. Even if I don't become an all out attacker I feel being more agressive would definitely help my game
