Hi Alois and Jeff,

I was asked to join a table tennis competition on 17th October later. What practices should I do to prepare the tournament? I have a robot and I practice my forehand/backhand counterhit or forehand/backhand topspin. I also practice the forehand topspin against backspin, returning services(especially backspin and sidespin). And how to overcome my nervous on the competition? My hands and legs are shaking when my friends watching me playing. My serves went bad, it wasn't spin much.

Thank you very muchRegards, Archel

Hi Archel,

I would try and get to play with other players as much as possible over the next couple of days.  The robot will be of limited benefit now.  It is good to get experience of hitting against a wide range of players before a tournament.

The main thing is to try and learn from the tournament as well.

Hi Kim,

Just think about playing well.  Don't put so much importance on the results.

Good luck and enjoy the experience.
