Training
I have a school tournament that's coming up in 3 weeks time. Any suggestions on how to prepare for it or with any other tournament?
Hi Jasper,
The main thing is to transition to more relevant training for matches such as more serve and serve return. You can move away from regular drills and do more drills with random play and decision making.
These elements will allow you to get used to what is happening in a match situation.
It's important that you assess your opponent's skill level and your own skill level. Using this information you can then decide how much risk you need to put into your game. If your opponent is a lot more consistent than you, you may need to go for a bit more on each of your shots to try and force an error.

On match day, is it recommended to visualise the positive situations and negative situations of the match of a particular opponent?
It is good to think about your strategy including some ideas of what your opponent will be trying to do.

When is the best moment to consider taking a timeout during the match? I'm thinking it's near the beginning because winning the first set will boost my confidence for the match
