Dear Alois,

Please tell me what is ideal contact timing while playing topspin.

Should I hit the ball at the peak of the bounce or earlier?

Hi Subhrajyoti,

To start with, hit the ball at the top of the bounce.  Then as you progress you can start to contact the ball at different positions.  If you want to give your opponent less time you can hit the ball earlier or if you want to play a slower topspin with more spin you can hit it when the ball is dropping.
