topspin or drive??

hi alois and jeff,

 i wanted 2 no if the topspin shot is better than a drive. i practise both of these shots and can master them brilliantly but in a match the ball came to me and i didn't no wat 2 do. which shot is better; a flat drive or a topspin loop? thanx evr so much and could u make a smash video plz? thanx

Hi Raj,

The safest shot is the topspin.  But remember that the drive and topspin are all similar strokes, just with varying amounts of topspin on them.  So don't treat them as completely different strokes that you need to make a decision about.  Just think that if the ball is lower you may need more topspin to lift the ball over and if the ball is higher you need less topspin and can put more speed.
