Strokes
My daughter is do topspin well during practice but during match she is not able to do topspin how can I make her practicing?
Hi Bharti,
In the practice situation you may find that she is tightening a little in her shoulder. This will restrict the movement in the stroke. If in training she is relaxed this tension may not occur. The other thing to think about is how predictable the placement is of the ball coming to her in training. Practice more random drills incorporating topspin to get this closer to what she will face in a match situation.
How is it that a player can always seem to get back those extremely fast topspins? Is it their incredible anticipation? The key to good anticipation actually lies in tracking the ball well. When you watch the ball closely your peripheral vision will pick up your opponents movements and with lots of practice those signs will help you anticipate what your opponent is going to do. This happens naturally with lots of experience. So it it your job to ensure that you are tracking the ball really carefully.
