Strategy
Hi Alois and Jeff
I have been trainning with my table tennis coach and he uses short pimples. I played him in a game but everytime I try he hits the ball it will be really shallow and low and I end up missing the ball. Also is there more spin on short pimples than there is on normal rubbers.
Thanks Enoch
Hi Enoch,
The short pimples flattens out the spin and makes the ball skid through. There is actually less spin than with inverted rubber. The ball will also tend to come through lower as a result.
After you topspin to the short pimples you will need to stay low and lift the next shot.

In this video we will discuss the differences between Inverted and short pimple rubbers. We will also cover the advantages and disadvantages of short pimple rubbers. Some of the advantages are that the ball travels lower and flatter over the net and that having one rubber short pimple and one rubber inverted provides variety making it more difficult for your opponent.
