Hi Alois and Jeff

I want to share an awesome video and have a question related to it.

The video is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQuR6lMJnLU

How to do those shots at 1:30 and 4:33

Can I know your favorite moment in the video.

Alois and Jeff One more question for you both. At which age you both participated in your first tournament.

Hi Tushar,

Thanks for sharing.

Both shots are by Michael Maze who has amazing abilities.  The first one is still sidespin shot but he just uses his wrist rather than his whole arm to make the shot.  We have a lesson on the Sidespin Forehand Topspin.

The second is a backhand sidespin shot. For our Premium members we do have a video response on the Ask the Coach page to show you the Backhand sidespin. Curve with Backhand.

Backhand Topspin Against Block

We delve into the essential techniques for executing a consistent backhand topspin against a block. We cover three critical aspects:

  1. Foot Position: Ensuring a stable and balanced stance to facilitate quick movements.
  2. Start Position: Positioning your racket and body correctly to initiate the stroke effectively.
  3. Finish Position: Completing the stroke in a way that prepares you for the next shot.

Additionally, we discuss how to adjust your bat angle if the ball goes long, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the same start and finish positions without coming across your body.

Whether you're a beginner aiming to build a solid foundation or an advanced player looking to refine your technique, this comprehensive guide is designed to enhance your game.

I liked the first rally.  Two left handers…

I was 9 when I played in my first tournament.

He does a sidespin backhand flick.  It is the same shot that a lot of players do on the return of serve but this time he does it in the rally.
