Hi Pingskills,

i've seen many players putting on tape around the blade and they say that they kept on the tape to keep the rubbers from getting peeled off at the edges. However my friends say that it would affect my paddle. So does the tape affect the paddle and is it safe to keep the tape on?

Hi Basel,

The players use it to protect the edges of the rubber from chipping.  Especially with the Tensor rubbers this tends to happen a lot.

It doesn't effect the performance of the rubber at all.  I would use it if you have it.  It will save you some money by getting your rubber to last longer.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
