WHAT ARE THE PRO'S & CON'S OF TACKY RUBBERS IE GEO SPIN TACKY & WHY WERE THEY EVER INVENTED ..

I DON'T THINK YOU GUY'S USE THEM ..DO YOU ??

Hi Gordon,

No we don't use Geo Spin.  Tacky rubber help to lift heavier spun backspin balls especially.  They also tend to give you a more direct return of the ball, especially with short pushing and return of serve.

It is a matter of preference.

If anyone uses these help us out here.

I use a tacky rubber on my forehand (globe 999t on dawei quattro sponge)  its faster than the geospin tacky.  I've heard that geospin is a very spinny rubber but is also very slow, try to find something with a bit more kick.  Tacky rubbers rule, more spin on service, greater lift when looping but they do hold the ball back since they grip it and that slows it down.  The only advantage to going non-tacky is speed and less spin responce from oponents shots.
