Good Morning

Sir,

I started playing table tennis when i was 13 years old. But I never joined a coaching class because of studies. I used to see my seniors game and videos on youtube. But after 10 class I joined coaching class for three months and then took break for my exams. Then for another two months and then took break.

Recently I have again joined coaching but my coach always make me play topspin and never had taught me other shots. Everyday he makes me play the same stroke topspin or counter hit. I have never been taught backhand push, backhand topspin, etc. So sir what should i do. He is a very good coach but i am confused. I want to learn more. Sir please tell what to do?

Hi Keshav,

I think it is important to learn strokes when you are starting.  Without seeing you play it is difficult to comment.  As your coach sees you all the time, trust what he is doing.  Learning topspin is a vital step so he may just be taking his time progressing you through it.
